摘要

In this work, experimental research on the effect of wheel grain size and machining process parameters on the ground surface roughness, and the corner radius between groove bottom and the groove flank is carried out in the face grinding of a groove bottom using a cup CBN quill. With the wheel CBN grains size being increased from #230 to #80, wheel life is greatly increased, and the ground surface roughness R-z stabilizes at under 4 mum, but the corner radius is remarkably increased. The reasons for this are that, with the CBN wheel being manufactured using an electroplating method, there is an interim arc between the face and the cylindrical surface on the wheel metal body, and it is difficult to make the CBN grains be ranged in order on the interim arc. Using a new wheel manufacturing technology makes CBN grains ranged in order on the outer flange of the wheel body, and makes the CBN grains size be to #60, so that good grinding results are obtained.
