Tobacco smoking is the first important avoidable cause of deaths and morbidity in the world. The nicotine addiction therapy is one case of lack of efficacy due to use of inappropriate drug form and dose regimen. Cytisine plays a role of nicotine replacement substance and leads to a decrease and ceasing of the existing physical and psychological dependence on nicotine. The main goal of the study performed is to carry out a preliminary investigation concerning the development of transdermal therapeutical system (TTS) containing Cytisine with time-lasting release according to the current state of the art for patient compliance and chronopharmaceutics.
