摘要
This paper presents a finite element model used to simulate the impact response of a fiber metal laminate. The load-time history, maximum deflection, and damage progression caused by impact loading were examined using an explicit finite element model. Two- and three-dimensional failure criteiria in the commercial finite element code ABAQUS are used to model stiffness degradation in the glass-fiber-reinforced composite layers of the laminates. The finite element results showed good agreement with experimental measurements.
