Acquiring Hierarchical Concepts Based on Granular Computing

With granular computing, the approach to obtaining hierarchical concepts from information system with inaccurate or uncertain values is proposed. The granulation criterions of the universe and approximate representations of attribute values are analyzed, and some concepts like tolerance information granules, concept granules and their operations are discussed. The framework and algorithms for generating hierarchical concepts based on granular computing are presented. The results of testing on some datasets show that the proposed method is effective.
