摘要

A number of the components or parts of an end-of-life vehicle (ELV) can be reused or reprocessed directly to save on limited resources. However, the assessment method to estimate and predict the residual strength and residual life of reused components or parts is proprietary and confidential information for foreign companies concerned. A new potential and overall method that can predict the residual strength and residual life of reused components or parts of ELVs is proposed in this paper. The method is based on the strengthening characteristic, wherein the strength limit of a material can be fully exploited because the strengthening effects of low-amplitude loads below the fatigue limit are also included and considered. The method is also of non-destructive property and is easy to operate.
