摘要

This paper describes the use of a nine-step soot model integrated into a phenomenological diesel engine model developed previously by the authors. The soot model includes gas and solid phase reactions and accounts for detailed particle dynamics. Soot mass emissions are predicted over a range of engine conditions and good agreement with experiments is observed. The evolution of soot mass, precursors, particle diameter and number are also predicted. It is proposed that the soot model presented here is suitable for use with thermodynamic diesel engine modelling and offers advantages over the two-step soot models commonly used with phenomenological diesel engine models.
