摘要

Politicians are receiving an increasing amount of attention at the expense of political parties. Social media are blurring the boundaries between public and private, and as these platforms become more important arenas for political communication one might ask whether social media are contributing to a further personalization of politics. This article examines Norwegian party leaders' Facebook updates before and after the parliamentary election of 2013, and asks how personalised this communication was. The communication is sorted into four different styles based on style and positioning. The main finding is that party leaders mainly expressed themselves officially and politically during the election campaign in accordance with their respective parties' politically focused campaign strategies. They did not adapt to the more personal style of social media communication and gave few glimpses into their inner private spheres.
