摘要
An experimental investigation of electrical beam steering of the difference frequency wave generated by a parametric array in air is described. A 16-channel phased array system, composed of a piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer array, a digital signal processor, and a power amplifier, was constructed and tested. The beam patterns of the primary and difference frequency waves were measured while adjusting the steering angle over the range of 0 degrees-40 degrees. Spurious signals due to intermodulation distortion of the driving and receiving systems were also considered. The experimental results demonstrate the potential use of parametric array beam steering for ultrasonic ranging sensors.
