Neutron Activation Experiments on Niobium in NPI p-Li-7 Quasi-monoenergetic Neutron Field

摘要

The work aims to make the study of neutron activation cross section data up to 35 MeV neutron energy using the reaction Li-7(p,n). This reaction produces the high energy quasi-monoenergetic neutrons with the tail to lower energies. The cross-section data for niobium for neutron energies higher than 23 MeV do not exist. These data are needed to develop the dosimetry foil method for neutron spectrometry inside the test cell of IFMIF (International Fusion Material Irradiation Facility) and for the test of nuclear models as well. The reactions (n, 2n), (n, 3n), (n, 4n), (n, He-3), (n, alpha), and (n, alpha 2n) are studied. The corresponding experimental cross sections are calculated.
