摘要

Power grids are large complicated networks in use around. Grids consist of many generators, substations, and transmission and distribution lines. The new phase identification system that can determine the phases of remote unknown-phase lines in a three-phase power distribution network is proposed and developed. The challenges to synchronizing two points deployed around a large area are solved through advanced applications of GPS time signal and information technology. Analytical model of power line is developed and simulated for investigating the phase differences. Even though there are limitations to identify phases, the proposed method is proven to find out phases of power lines accurately.
