摘要
The third oldest Rhopalosomatidae, Paleorhopalosoma menatensisn. gen., n. sp., is described from the Paleocene of Menat (France). In addition to the characters unique to rhopalosomatids the plesiomorphic complete wing venation together with plesiomorphic shape of metasoma show that this genus is very likely a more 'basal' clade of this family, together with the Early Cretaceous genus Mesorhopalosoma.
