摘要

This paper summarizes the development of the theory and technology of Cross-Wedge Rolling (CWR) over the last twenty years. The problems discussed in detail are related to the modeling of CWR processes using engineering methods, finite-element method and Author's methods of layer modeling. The computational capabilities of various methods are discussed and examples of applications are given. When the development of the CWR technology is considered, the focused is put on new rolling methods, forming axially asymmetrical products, rolling hollow parts, rolling shafts with an eccentric step, no-waste division and forming parts from non-iron metals and their alloys. Brief information is also given in the paper regarding the topic of the development of machines needed to perform the CWR processes. Finally, directions that, in the Author's opinion, will define the development of the cross-wedge rolling in the future, are shown.
