摘要
A novel long lasting phosphor, Ca3Al2O6:Ce3+, is prepared by solid-state reaction and the long lasting phosphorescence properties are investigated for the first time. X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence, long-lasting phosphorescence, and thermoluminescence spectra are used to characterize the synthesized phosphor. The result indicates that the Ca2.99Al2O6:0.01Ce(3+) shows the most efficient photoluminescence and longest lasting phosphorescence. The emission spectra of Ca3Al2O6: Ce3+ reveal an asymmetric emission band centered at 483 nm which can be ascribed to Ce3+ occupying two kinds of Ca2+ sites. The observed phosphorescence in Ca3Al2O6:Ce3+ originates from the formation of traps whose thermoluminescence peak locates at 306 K. c 2012 The Electrochemical Society. [DOI: 10.1149/2.
