摘要

In this paper, we propose a fully automatic abdominal muscle extractor and analyzer from ultrasound image based on fuzzy binarization technique and other supporting image processing algorithms. Utilizing muscle morphology of abdominal region, we extract fascia first and then find three target muscles-transversus abdominis, internal oblique and external oblique-successfully (average 89% of 300 input images). The thicknesses of those three muscles are automatically computed and in experiment, the error magnitude of our implemented software comparing with human field expert is within 0.6 mm for 76.7% of 300 tested DACOM ultrasound image slides. We believe that developing such an automatic extracting and analyzing software can contribute to reduce manual inspection time and operator subjectivity in rehabilitative ultrasound imaging.
