摘要

Molecular Pathogenesis of Cystic Neoplasms of the Pancreas
With a total proportion of approximately 5% of all pancreatic neoplasms, cystic tumors are far less common than pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Accordingly, while a significant amount of information on the molecular basis of initiation and progression of PDAC has accumulated in recent years, relatively few studies have been performed with cystic neoplasms. With the rising frequency of diagnosis and the development of clear diagnostic criteria for the differentiation of the various tumor entities, however, interest in elucidating the causative molecular changes that underlie the formation of cystic lesions in the pancreas is steadily increasing. This review summarizes the current state of knowledge and gives an overview of the similarities and differences in the pathogenesis of cystic neoplasms in the pancreas.
