摘要

This work is concerned with a double-passband negative refraction of left-handed metamaterials both from the simulative and experimental demonstration. The sample of metamaterial is composed of a periodic structure of Benzene Split Resonant Rings (BSRRs) and Metal Wires (MWs) that exhibit simultaneously a negative permittivity and a negative permeability response at comparable frequencies. The sample exhibits two frequency bands of negative refraction, from 7.2 to 9.8 GHz and from 10.2 to 11.5 GHz, yielding a total bandwidth of the two negative passbands of 3.9 GHz. The experimental measurements of the metamaterial are in good agreement with the results obtained from the simulation for the design and optimization of the sample at these two passbands.
