摘要

Er-doped In2O3 hollow spheres were successfully prepared by using carbon microspheres as templates and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The experimental results showed that the synthesized hollow spheres had a diameter of ca. 300 nm and the thickness of the shells was ca. 40 nm. The gas-sensing properties of the samples were investigated and the 5.0 mol% Er-doped In2O3 sensor exhibited the maximum sensitivity of 30.0 to alcohol vapor at the optimal operating temperature (235 degrees C). The possible reasons for the effect of Er on the alcohol-sensing properties of Er-doped In2O3 sensor were proposed.
