摘要

Hull form is the external geometry of the vessels that requires iterative process when the conventional design methods were used. It is very time consuming and tedious to carry out such a process manually. This paper presents the development of methodology of ship hull form generation using analytic function. The study of the hull form analytic functions includes functions describing the buttock lines, waterlines, virtual deck side line and transverse lines which are based on analytic geometry and differential geometry theory. The procedure of generating a ship hull form using analytic function is introduced and explained. Based on the definition of analytic function, the hull form is automatically fairing on three dimensions. With the aid of this methodology, predictions on the performance characteristics and ship hull form hydrodynamics optimization will be more accurate and effectively.
