Phytochemical Studies on Sorbus cashmiriana

Eleven compounds have been isolated for the first time from Sorbus cashmiriana namely ursolic acid (1), stigmasterol (2), myricadiol (3), taraxerol (4), 5 alpha, 8 alpha-epidioxyergosta -6, 22-diene-3 beta-ol (5), 3 beta, 5 alpha-dihydroxy-6 beta-methoxyergosta-7, 22-diene (6), betulonic acid (7), betulinic acid (8), beta-sitosteryl acetate (9), 5 alpha, 8 alpha-epidioxyergosta-6, 9 (11), 22-trien-3 beta-ol (10) stigmasterol 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (11), respectively. Their structures have been elucidated by sophisticated spectroscopy techniques.
