摘要

Improved critical current density in Y0.5Gd0.5 Ba2Cu3O7-delta films is achieved by a controlled study of substrate surface modifications with nano-sized second-phase pre-formed Dy2O3 particles. Nanoparticles were applied to buffered Hastelloy substrates using metal organic deposition techniques prior to YGdBCO film growth. With the introduction of Dy2O3 nanoparticles, YGdBCO films showed more robust field dependence and higher flux pinning force at intermediate fields, indicating Dy2O3 surface decoration with metal organic deposition process is a promising method for enhancement of current-carrying capability of YGdBCO film.
