Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) suspensions were prepared by MWNTs functionalization with siloxane polyether copolymer (PSPEO) in water with the aid of ultrasonication. In the case of nitric acid treated MWNTs, the concentration of MWNTs was up to 1 similar to 2.5 mg/mL, however, in the case of mixture of concentrated sulphuric acid and concentrated nitric acid treated MWNTs, the concentration up to 35 mg/mL. The resulting MWNTs suspensions show good stability, which is relative to the unique structure and property of PSPEO. MWNTs suspensions were characterized by TEM, HRTEM, UV-vis, and Raman spectra methods. The experimental shows that 5 similar to 10 nm coating of PSPEO wraps MWNTs and interacts strongly with MWNTs, resulting in the dispersion of MWNTs in water.
