摘要

The probability of using a more precise and reliable method to determine the band gap of semiconductors by optical spectra is investigated both theoretically and experimentally in this paper. A new method to naturally obtain the most accurate value of band gap in materials is developed based on mathematical and phenomenological considerations in the theoretical framework. The model has been tested with independent data set of some materials. The results suggested that the obtained band gap values based on the above described method agree with published data very well. Moreover, experimental optics spectra have been used for calculating both the index stands for the nature of material and useful diagnostic of materials within reasonable confidence by this method. Hence, the method is very useful and can be a convenient tool for materials science.
