A home-made C-14 AMS system at CIAE

摘要

A home-made AMS system dedicate to C-14 measurements was built and tested at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). The system is a kind of a single stage AMS system with a working voltage of 230 kV. The overall dimensions of the system are 4.6 x 2.4 m(2). After the system was installed, systematic experiments have been carried out to optimize the system performance. In these test experiments, C-14 measurements with precision of 0.8% and a background level of 0.6 pMC were achieved. Details of the system and the experimental performance are given.
