In the title compound, [Mn(C7H4O5S)(C12H8N2)(2)(H2O)] center dot-3H(2)O, the Mn-II atom displays an octahedral MnN4O2 configuration, defined by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, one carboxyl O atom belonging to a 2-sulfobenzoate dianion and one aqua O atom. O - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds involving 2-sulfobenzoate dianions, aqua ligands and uncoordinated water molecules link the mononuclear units into a three-dimensional network structure.
