Using genetic algorithm to optimise power systems with pumped-storage hydroelectric plants

The paper presents results of preliminary research focused on applicability of genetic algorithm to the problem of scheduling and optimisation of power systems with pumped-storage hydroelectric plants. The results show that the algorithm can be successfully applied to the problem and provide data useful for design and configuration of power systems.
