摘要

We have designed a tapered planar rib waveguide and numerically studied supercontinuum generation by the propagation of input pulses at 1.55 mu m. The Air-SF57 glass-SiO2 waveguide is 2 cm long, with a varying etch depth to manage the total dispersion. This proposed waveguide geometry significantly broadens the output spectrum caused by continuous modification of the phase matching condition for dispersive wave emission. The coherence property has also been investigated, demonstrating that fully coherent supercontinuum extending from similar to 1 mu m to similar to 4.6 mu m can be obtained with proper pumping conditions.
