摘要
A ternary Cu(II) complex, [Cu(naph-ser)(bipy)]center dot 0.125CH(2)Cl(2) (naph-ser = a Schiff base derived from 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and l-serine, bipy = 2, 2'-bipyridine), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. In the crystal structure, a supramolecular assembly with left-handed double helices is formed by O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonding interactions. The DNA-binding properties and DNA-cleavage activity of the Cu(II) complex have been investigated by spectroscopic methods and agarose gel electrophoresis. The results indicate that the Cu(II) complex can bind to CT-DNA via an intercalative mode and shows efficient cleavage activity in the absence and presence of reducer.
