A favored trope in pediatric neurology is that the greater plasticity of the child's brain increases the potential for recovery after some types of brain injury. Hopeful parents bring it up in discussions with their physicians, and many pediatric neurologists use it in conversations with parents. But is it true that children recover better than adults after brain injury?
