A coordination-oriented model for Web based Intelligent Management Systems

摘要

Traditional IMS (Intelligent Management System) was first presented in,the closed environment, where all components were known at design time. The decentralization, openness and dynamics of the Internet scenario introduce new problems and requirements. Coordination is a central problem in Web based Intelligent Management Systems development. The complexity of today systems requires separation of computational entities and coordinating entities. The paper presents a coordination-oriented model that contains four categories of entities: services, actors, roles and,coordinators. Actors represent the system's functionalities. Services are responsible for accomplishing tasks of the actor. The role abstracts the behaviors shared by a group of actors. The coordinators are responsible for coordination among the roles. In our model, there are three types of coordinators: communication coordinator, resource coordinator and task coordinator. The aim is to provide a generic coordination model for building Web based Intelligent Management Systems. The major benefits of our model. are flexible coordination, runtime reconfiguration, high extensibility and. reusability in open, distributed and dynamic environments. In the paper, the strategies of developing Intelligent Management Systems are discussed. The software architecture, design methods and implementation techniques of Intelligent Management Systems are given based on our model.
