A simple, efficient, and cost effective method has been developed for the synthesis of co-hydrazinoalkylphosphonic acids via the nucleophilic substitution reaction of diethyl omega-haloalkylphosphonates and hydrazine using mild reaction conditions, followed by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid.
