摘要

The light reflectance in 3-dimensional metal-dielectric photonic crystals assembled from polyelectrolyte-coated latex spheres infiltrated with gold nanoparticles prior or after opal crystallisation has been studied. Flattening of the diffraction resonance dispersion, development of the surface plasmon band upon the Au content and topology dependence of surface plasmon bands have been observed. The strong dependence of reflectance band dispersion was observed upon the amount of infiltrated Au nanoparticles. Two ways to manipulate the photonic band gap dispersion were revealed. In the case of high spectral separation of the Bragg resonance from the surface plasmon band, the dispersion of the former becomes squeezed due to strong changing of the dielectric constant of the composite brought by Au nanoparticles. If these resonances share the same spectral range, they are split in two nonoverlapping branches of the surface plasmon polariton.
