摘要

A coupled water-energy balance model was developed to analyze the water resources use in arid oases. The sum of the annual irrigation and precipitation was taken as the water availability for the oasis. The Budyko hypothesis was extended by using the Fu Baopu';s equation. The model was verified by data for precipitation, irrigation, runoff and potential evapotranspiration for 5 large oases in the Tarim basin in China from 1971 to 2004. An empirical relationship for estimating the model parameters is presented based on the annual evapotranspiration and land use in the Akesu oasis in the Tarim basin.
