摘要

A simple adduct from tin tetraiodide SnI\u003csub\u003e4\u003c/sub\u003e and octasulfur S\u003csub\u003e8\u003c/sub\u003e, SnI\u003csub\u003e4\u003c/sub\u003e?(S\u003csub\u003e8\u003c/sub\u003e)\u003csub\u003e2\u003c/sub\u003e ( 1 ), is obtained employing a facile reaction. The combination of Sn\u003csup\u003e4+\u003c/sup\u003e ions with d\u003csup\u003e10\u003c/sup\u003e electron configuration, acentric SnI\u003csub\u003e4\u003c/sub\u003e tetrahedra, and lone‐pair effects of S\u003csub\u003e8\u003c/sub\u003e, makes 1 a phase‐matchable infrared NLO crystal with a moderate second‐harmonic generation (SHG) response and a very high laser‐induced damage threshold (LIDT), which is well confirmed by the DFT calculations.
