Atopic dermatitis and food allergy

摘要

Food allergy has been well documented in about one-third of children with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. The diagnosis must be based on skin or blood test screening followed in the majority of case by provocation tests. In the absence of specific treatment, avoidance of the incriminated food(s) is generally recommended. In certain cases, the child can be instructed to eat small amounts of the food, depending on the tolerance to it.
