A Novel Algorithm for Image Contents Distribution over Image Contents Networks based on Efficient Caching Solutions

Recently new methodology for efficient Web contents delivery over the Internet has been an important issue, since large-sized contents including image or video brings heavy network traffic over the Network. Scalable layered format is considered as one of the most appropriate solutions because it owns a high flexibility and powerful functionality. However, the corresponding caching method for scalable format has not been resolved. Therefore, this paper discusses caching algorithms to retrieve and deliver scalable Web image contents over the Internet. We compare different caching methods. And the results show that the proposal can further improve the Web performance by adopting the special characteristics of scalable image objects.
