Pink crystals of the title dinuclear complex, [Ag-2(C10H8N2)(2)(C28H28P2)](BF4)(2), were obtained from a methanol solution of equivalent amounts of AgBF4, 2,2'-bipyridyl (bipy) and 1,4- bis(diphenylphosphino) butane (dppb). The [Ag-2(bipy)(2)(dppb)](2 ) cation lies across a crystallographic inversion centre and the coordination environment around Ag-I is distorted trigonal.
