Based on the theory of TRIZ innovation, it was intended to develop a new type of maize stubble harvesting machine with multiple functions, including picking-up. throwing and conveying, separating soil from stubble and collecting. The overall layout and technical process of maize stubble harvesting machine were established by theoretical analysis and experimental research. And the structural parameters and working parameters of machine were optimized through analyzing and researching the working mechanism of key components. The field experimental results showed that, on average, the rate of soil separation was 95.57%, rate of stubble loss was 4.58% at the forward speed of 0.46 m/s, and the rate of soil separation was 93.23% and rate of stubble loss was 4.46% at the forward speed of 0.65 m/s. Its work met the requirements of design and application.
