摘要

Variable pitch technology plays an important role for wind generator protection. A variable pitch mechanism is proposed which is useful for drag type Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs). It is a serial link mechanism combined by a double-slider and a crank-slider mechanism. The double-slider is driven by hydraulic cylinder, then the crank-slider is driven in turn, and the blades of the wind rotor connected with the crank are driven to rotate around its'own axis. Considering the good force performance as optimization objective and suitable wind rotor operating space as optimization constrains, a genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the dimensions of the serial mechanism. The simulation results indicate than the mechanism can provide variable pitch motion for blades within required angle range and show the rationality of the mechanism.
