摘要

Land cover transformation aroused from urbanization has an influence upon on the spatial pattern. Quantifying spatial pattern is essential for both urban layout planing and ecology process. For the spatial pattern analysis, scale plays an important role. Remote sensing is a primary data source for spatial pattern analysis. As the applications of high spatial resolution remotely sensed images becoming more and more extensive, object-based image analysis (OBIA) is on the rise and rapidly developed. Segmentation is the crucial step which can generate objects at different scale levels. In this paper the multi-scale segmentation is employed to analyze spatial pattern which links OBIA image segmentation and spatial pattern. Multispectral WorldView-2 images covering an urban fringe area in Fangshan District in Beijing, is chosen as the study area data. OBIA is used to extract the land cover information in eCognition Developer 8.0. After that, objects belonging to the same class are merged up. And then new objects of each class are segmented at variable multiple scales respectively. Thus, several segmentations are generated to analyze the spatial patterns at multiple scales. The results show that the variable multi-scale segmentation method enables us to analyze spatial pattern thoroughly.
