摘要

Core-shell structure exists widely in as-atomized immiscible alloy. For its formation mechanism, the previous studies have shown that the core formed by the migration and subsequent coalescence of globule minority phase in sample center. In this paper, however, a novel route against traditional understanding was proposed from the visualized phase separation in transparent succinonitrile-water systems with critical and off-critical compositions. For phase separation with off-critical composition, core-shell structure forms in a conventional way, whereas, for that with critical composition, it evolves from a novel ring-shaped structure with a new route which has never been reported. This scenario is analyzed by the different dynamic characteristics of spinodal decomposition and nucleation-growth. Our results can provide deep insight into the formation mechanism on the core-shell-corona structure.
