Study of a Photonic Crystal Sensor for Detection of Solution Concentration

摘要

The photonic crystal biosensors have taken their place in sensor technology since the photonic crystal was proposed. Introduced single defect into one-dimensional photonic crystal, a thin frequency seam will appear in the photonic crystal band gap, namely the defect mode. By changing the optical thickness and type of the defect dielectric material, the peak and location of the defect mode will change accordingly. On this basis, a novel detection sensor for the solution concentration is proposed, according to the relationship between the solution concentration and the peak of the defect mode. The solution concentration can be represented by the change of the defect mode. Simulate the biosensor, and fit the data in the case of sucrose solution. After optimization, the one-dimensional PC is more sensitive to refractive index of defect layer media. In addition, the manufacture of detector is more simple and convenient. It provides a novel and more accurate method to measure the solution concentration.
