Acute ischemic stroke after cardioversion and atrial flutter ablation under dabigatran

This article reports an acute ischemic stroke after cardioversion and atrial flutter catheter ablation in a patient on treatment by dabigatran 110 mg twice daily. Trans-esophageal echocardiography did not show any thrombi. Even if this event cannot be attributed to the treatment, this article indicates that prospective studies are necessary.
