摘要

The highway from Shiyan to Fangxian goes through the Wudang mountains. Surrounding rock of tunnel is Wudang group schist. The anisotropy resulting from schistosity of the kind of rock has an obvious influence on the deformation and instability of tunnel surrounding rock. In the present study, the triaxial compression test was carried out to investigate the deformation and strength anisotropic characteristics of Wudang group schist specimens under different foliation angle, with in natural and saturated state and the different confining pressure conditions. The current study examined the deformation failure mode of schist in microscopic and macroscopic structure, and the mechanical properties of anisotropy were analyzed. The main findings were that the Wudang group schist exhibited strong anisotropy. The elastic moduli and compressive strength of the specimens reached the maximum when load orientation was parallel on foliation loft, and the minimum value when load orientation and foliation were oblique. The effects of water and confining pressure on the anisotropy of schist were significant. Under the triaxial compression condition, all the schist specimens presented shear failure mode which was due to the structure of schist and the different foliation angles.
