摘要

This work presents an experimental investigation of heat transfer enhancement capabilities of coolants with suspended nanoparticles (TiO2 dispersed in water) inside a BF cooling stave. Addition of nanoparticles enhances heat transfer coefficient of its base liquid. The heat transfer characteristics enhanced with increasing particle concentration. To determine how heat transfer is enhanced as a function of natioparticles concentration, experimental measurements were carried out on aqueous TiO2 nanoparticles suspensions. The analysis shows that using nanoparticles suspensions in cooling system could reduce volumetric flow rate. This will reduce energy consumptions as well because the heat transfer unit has less liquid and pumping power to consume.
