摘要

The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) is one of the most frequently used measures of anxiety. The STAI scale for the assessment of state anxiety consists of 20 items. In some populations difficulties may arise in dealing with a larger number of items or testing time may be very limited. For this reason the goal of the present study was to develop a short version of the state scale of the STAI. In a first sample, consisting of N = 65 university students, a short scale of the STAI-State, the STAI-SKD was generated, consisting of five items with regard to content and based on statistical considerations. A confirmatory factor analysis in a second sample (N = 191 university students) revealed that the STAI-SKD represents the two anxiety components emotionality and worry. In a third sample (N = 80 university students) the relationships of the STAI-SKD to positive and negative affect as well as its sensitivity to change were as expected. The new short version of the STAI-State allows a fast assessment of state anxiety.
