摘要
In product design, a large proportion of 3D CAD models can be reused to facilitate future product development due to their similarities in function and shape. This paper presents a novel method that incorporates modeling knowledge into CAD model similarity assessment to improve the accuracy of reuse-oriented retrieval (feature-based). Firstly, secondary development technology of CAD platform is adopted to extract the adjacency relationship between features and the information of geometric surfaces generated by corresponding features. A geometric surface similarity algorithm is established after the surfaces are classified. Secondly, the geometric dependence relationship between surfaces is analyzed to construct the geometric relationship graph of surfaces. Thirdly, a feature similarity algorithm is realized after the method that discriminates the subgraph of the geometric relationship graph is defined. Finally, the effect of the feature similarity algorithm is proved through instances of CAD model retrieval. Experimental results show that the incorporation of modeling knowledge greatly facilitates CAD model retrieval and reuse.
