A simple and efficient one-pot synthesis of chromenoimidazopyridines and chromenopyridopyrimidines containing intramolecular hydrogen bonds via reaction of diamines, 1,1-bis(methylsulfanyl)-2-nitroethene, and 4-chloro-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carbaldehyde is described.
