摘要

The core function of current Augmented Reality (AR) browser is to simply display some textural icons on screen of mobile phone, without accurate registration to real environment. How to achieve a visually appealing AR experience with accurate AR annotation is still a major task in outdoor AR browser. This paper presents a novel AR browser that annotates anchor points in real world to a user build panorama, enable users to create and browse AR annotations of current location. This method generates a 360 degree panorama on the fly, which is used for annotating anchor points and offline browsing. Then image templates of anchor points will be matched to the panorama using template matching algorithm. To speed up image templates matching procedure, a method is introduced to reduce searching region by calculating angle between anchor points and current location. As a result, an accurate annotated panorama is generated with visually enhancements to environment for offline browsing (see Fig. 1).
