A compact printed CPW-fed UWB antenna with dual band-notched characteristics

摘要

In this article, a compact printed coplannar waveguide fed UWB antenna with 3.5-/5.8-GHz band-notched characteristics is proposed.The proposed antenna consists of an opening rectangle ring and and two resonating structures. One is inserted onto the terminal of the radiating patch and another is connected to the beginning of radiating patch via two metallic holes. The simulation and measurement show that the proposed antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth ranging from 3 to 11 GHz with the dual notched bands around 3.5 and 5.8 GHz. A nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern and constant grop delay are observed except around the two notched frequencies. In addition, the conceptual equivalent circuit models, which combined with input impedance, are also shown for further analysis of the band-notched characteristics.
