摘要

This study investigates how a magnetic field affects the alpha/gamma transformation in Fe-Co alloys, particularly its entropy of transformation. Pure Fe, Fe-9.5 at% Co alloy and Fe-19.2 at% Co alloy were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry in a magnetic field. Both the latent heat and the alpha/gamma transformation entropy for pure Fe and Fe-Co alloys decreased in a magnetic field. These reductions were more pronounced as the Co concentration increased and as the magnetic field strength increased.
